With the success of North Country Brewing Company’s Brew Bub and the increasing demand of production, the owners’ Bob and Jodi McCafferty decided to open North Country Production Brewery in 2013.
Right down the road from the Brew Pub, the canning facility is open for events and tours on select days. The Production Brewery brews, kegs and cans North Country’s most popular brews. The facility has shipped beer to every county in Pennsylvania, and parts of Ohio.
Bob McCafferty studied environmental geoscience in school. Upon graduation, he became an archaeologist traveling from natural location to location. On the side he had a job bartending. He met his wife, Jodi and she had a background in restaurant management. The concept for North Country came from his time spent in the woods and much of the wood inside the Brew Pub came from archaeological sites around North Country that would have been destroyed.
Bob had an interest in chemistry and he also wanted to create something “brewed here, made here, local, and that’s when the beer came into fruition. One of Bob’s mantras is: “think like a mountain” meaning- think about longevity and how this will last a long time from now. The Mccaffertys are very involved in having a sustainable restaurant and brewery, with historical and community significance.
Over the years, Jodi and Bob saw such demand for their brew that they decided to open a production facility. North Country Canning Company officially came to be in 2013 and has been producing and canning North Country’s most popular brews. Since its inception, the production facility has shipped beer to every county in Pennsylvania and parts of Ohio and Maryland.
